I personally was diagnosed with Asperger’s, a high functioning form of Autism, and my younger brother Nicholas was diagnosed with moderate to severe Autism so my family is very active in volunteering. I have been an Autism Speaks Ambassador for several years where I educate others in Autism Awareness and what Autism is, how to respect and help people with Autism, and how the people I speak with can start to help educate other people about Autism. I have also been very involved with the Special Olympics. My brother has been involved with a completion team so I have helped volunteer with that organization for many years. I also have been a volunteer photographer for numerous events in the Special Olympics where I have been fortunate enough to use my talents to brighten the lives of the people who have competed!
Another organization I am very involved with is Operation Gratitude, their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the needs of the Military and First Responder communities. With several members of my family being in the Military or a First Responder I felt this organization was the perfect avenue for me to show my gratitude and respect for all that they do! I personally have helped build and create over 2,000 care packages, paracord bracelets, and thank you letters for Operation Gratitude to mail to the Military and First Responders that serve our nation!
And when I was 16 years old I created and founded my own organization, Be The One, which gets youths involved with volunteering in their communities. I have over 25 members, and counting, that are spread out through America and are involved in different volunteer activities every month. My goal for Be The One is to provide all of my members with information and the supplies they need so they can advocate, fundraise, and make a difference in their communities; because the Be The One motto is: one act of kindness can change a life and together we can change the world!
